Some love stories start with romantic gestures, cosy first dates, or those moments where you are swept off your feet! Steve and Leyna’s story?
Well, it began in a little more standard way… at work! They simply started spending time together, and then never really stopped, and somewhere along the way, they fell in love. Steve never actually asked her to be his girlfriend, so technically, she married her best friend rather than her boyfriend (which, let’s be honest, is kind of perfect!).
A Dreamy Proposal!
If their beginning was understated, their proposal was not! On a family holiday to the Bahamas (yes, I’m already jealous), Steve pulled Leyna’s Dad to one side before they even got on the plane to ask for his blessing. But he didn’t stop there—he also asked Alfie, Leyna’s son from a previous relationship, for his approval. (I’m not crying…..)
Then, on a beautiful evening walk along the beach, as the sun was going down in that ridiculously romantic setting, Steve got down on one knee and popped the question. Cue tears, excitement, and lots of celebratory champagne with the family! #engagementgoals
The Big Day: A Sunset, A Magician & A Very Happy Bride
Fast forward to their wedding day at the stunning Ivy House Country Hotel in Lowestoft, Suffolk, it was everything they could have hoped for. As an introvert, Leyna wasn’t exactly counting down the days to being the centre of attention, but with her team of suppliers, family and friends, she was in safe hands.
Her bridal hair stylist (that’s me!) and makeup artist Leanna Stibbon worked their magic to make her feel her best, while Adam Prescott Photography and Lewis James Parker Videography made sure to capture every moment effortlessly. The real star of the show (besides the bride and groom, obviously)? Magician Edd Crafer, who kept guests entertained and added that extra touch of magic to the day.
And the cherry on top? The most incredible sunset—something that made Leyna’s day (apart form marrying Steve obv…). She has a slight (okay, major) obsession with sunsets, and the universe definitely delivered on their big day.

Married Life & Making Every Moment Count
With Steve working offshore, he spends a lot of time away, but that only makes their time together even more special. They prioritise regular date nights whenever he’s home, proving that love isn’t just about the big moments—it’s about making the most of the small ones too.
Advice for Future Brides
Leyna’s biggest piece of advice for your wedding day! Do what makes YOU happy, not what pleases other people. And also, of course, book Sara as your bridal hair stylist (her words, not mine!).
