When planning your wedding morning time line there are lots of things you might not realise you need to consider, so let me break it down for you…
Lots of hair or detailed styles? We will need more time!
If you have a bridesmaid with particularly long or thick hair, it’s essential you let your hair stylist know. They should ask this question before hand but in case they don’t be sure to notify them, they will thank you for it.
Clip In Extensions? Let us know early – they take extra prep!
Clip in hair extensions are amazing and can really elevate your chosen look, but if we are handed hair extensions with no warning and the client in question wants a detailed style this could result in us not having time to finish the style to the standards we hope to. Adding in clip in extensions can extend the time by 15 to 20 mins, so it’s essential we’re notified in advance if you or your bridal party want them fitted.
Early Ceremony Time/Large Bridal Party? We might be starting super early, but no worries — we can bring in an extra stylist or assistant. (I’ve got a few I love!)
It’s vital you inform us of your ceremony time or if anything changes in terms of a venue move or the time you need to be ready by. Hair styling takes time and if there’s an early start pending then we want to inform you of this as early along in the process as possible. So whilst it’s appreciated that you may not have set in stone your wedding time at the point of booking, keeping us informed all the way along can avoid any nasty surprises and also gives us time to hire an assistant if needed.
Do bridesmaids need previews?? If they want them, then absolutely but it’s not necessary as we’ll chat through their styles before the big day.
We are very used to working on the hop without much preparation for bridal party members. So unless you have a particularly anxious mum or bridesmaid who is partiular about her hair, then a trial really isn’t required. Though a heads up about hair type and style choice does help to avoid any panics on the day.
Book a free discovery call first — we’ll cover the bride, bridesmaids, timings, and all your plans so the morning runs smoothly.
A discovery call can help to put your mind at ease and answer lots of the questions that might be floating around in your head. We understand that you don’t plan weddings every day and most of this will be new to you, so lean on us and let us guide you through the process. A FREE discovery call is your first step in this.
Buffer time is key — We always aim to be finished an hour before you need to be ready so it’s worth knowing your ceremony time and the time you need to be ready!
Buffer time is time for touch ups, fitting veils, flowers or making adjustments to styles done earlier in the schedule should they require it. it might seem like a waste of time, but believe me, it’s needed. This is going on while everyone is getting dressed and having me on hand to make any tweaks is very reassuring.
I hope this has helped you plan your morning a little better. But if you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
